by The Gender Confirmation Center
The Gender Confirmation Center would like to invite you to be part of a research study on the patient experiences after FTM/N gender-affirming top surgery (removal of breasts or breast mastectomy). This study was designed by Dr. Scott Mosser of the Gender Confirmation Center, as well as Dr. John Strang and Dr. Scott Leibowitz, and is sponsored by Dignity Health, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital.
Through this study, we hope to:
Learn more about patients’ mood before and after top surgery as well as experiences with post-operative pain & depression.
Assess correlation between gender identity and Ehlers-Danlos or joint hypermobility syndromes.
If you are a member of the transgender, non-binary or gender expansive community who has had a masculinizing top surgery procedure, please consider participating in this study. If you agree to take part, you will be helping to inform the medical community’s best practices with regard to top surgery and transgender care and improve the post-operative experience for folks planning to have top surgery.
